Kurilian Bobtail — a smart and energetic cat for dog lovers
An aboriginal breed from the Kuril Islands with perfect health resulting from natural selection. Kittens are born with a pom-pom tail, whose shape is as unique as human’s fingerprints. The breed has semi-longhair and shorthair varieties, but the both differ from other haired breeds by almost unnoticeable molting.
Kurilian Bobtail’s aboriginal origin influenced its habits:
- it’s tolerant to water and cold weather;
- perfectly hunts fish and rodents;
- is active and playful;
- very jumpy thanks to its powerful hind legs;
- is smart and quick-witted (otherwise, they can’t survive in the wild), that’s why it’s very trainable and remembers many words;
- can travel with a parent and loves to go for a walk outside;
- gets along well with dogs, as in the wild these cats live in big groups (prides) and know how to respect hierarchy.
