“The Hunger Games” Producer Chose a Dog from Ukraine

Nina Jacobson is a Hollywood producer and the founder of the production company Color Force, which created all The Hunger Games movies as well as other well-known films. In 2005, Forbes named Jacobson one of the world’s 100 most powerful women.

Currently, Nina Jacobson is in Europe filming The Hunger Games prequel, which made it convenient for her to get a dog from Ukraine. She chose a Miniature Schnauzer with a black-and-silver coat — a boy she named Steve.

“I don’t usually write reviews but I had such a great experience with Lapa I felt compelled to write one. I fell in love with a mini schnauzer on their website and reached out based on positive reviews like this. They were responsive and transparent and put me in touch with the breeder, Oxsana. I really appreciated being able to get to know Oxsana and see through video and text what a loving home she provided. She was as invested as I was in making the right match. Tarquin now goes by Steve and is just an incredible pup: well behaved, loving and confident. His temperament is the ultimate proof that he was raised with love and care. Oxsana and I still trade pics and texts. I feel so grateful to Lapa and Oxsana for prioritizing the well being of their pets and helping me find the perfect pup.”
— wrote Nina Jacobson in her Trustpilot review.

Now the little boy not only lives with Nina but also goes to work with her. Right after the move, Steve was a bit shy — getting used to new people and surroundings. But he quickly adapted and won his new mom’s heart.

Before that, Steve lived in a small town in Ukraine with his breeder, who could never have imagined that her puppy would one day move to the USA and have a famous owner. But with the help of the international platform Lapa.shop, anything is possible!

The Miniature Schnauzer is the smallest of the Schnauzer group (height at the withers — 30–35 cm, weight — 4–8 kg). That’s why it’s often called the mini schnauzer. The first miniature schnauzer was officially registered in 1888.

“The Miniature Schnauzer is a wonderful companion and friend. I recommend it to anyone looking for a compact dog with the soul of a big one,” says Kateryna Yuhosh, founder of Lapa.shop. “It’s the smallest working breed in the world — very smart, clever, and always finds a way to connect with everyone in the family — adults, children, other dogs, and even cats. I say this from personal experience because I also have a mini schnauzer. Although the breed originated in Germany, Ukrainian miniature schnauzers born from responsible breeders are of a very high standard. They participate in international shows across Europe and even become world champions.”
